The article even provides the example of The Amsterdam at Harborside, a state-of-the-art community in Port Washington, right on Roslyn Harbor. If the senior chooses not to remain in his home but wants to stay in the area, a place like the Amsterdam offers residents the opportunity to purchase an apartment in the community and if more skilled care is needed, assisted living and nursing care is available to its residents right on the grounds so that relocating is never necessary and spouses stay together.
